• Admits and discharges patient, identifies nursing need, gives direct nursing care and evaluates patient’s condition.
• Performs nursing activities such as shampoo in bed, oral hygiene, feeding thru Nasogastric tube, tepid sponge bath, postpartum care, post-mortem care and etc.
• Observes and documents pertinent information that reflects the patient’s clinical condition. Reports the same to the incoming nurses and physicians.
• Observes and responds to patient’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs in an appropriate manner.
• Gives pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
• Carries out physician’s legal orders.
• Prepares patient or, and assist physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Administers and chart medication and patient’s reaction to the medicines.
• Acts as liaison between patient and hospital personnel.
• Provides health teachings to the patients and significant others.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness in the unit.
• Acts as a senior nurse when delegated. Teaches and direct non-professional nursing personnel.
• Attends meetings and conferences
