Here, I’m supporting for wintel & VMware administrator. In My project around 1200 servers, 150 servers are in physical server. The remaining servers are running in VMware. Previously, VM are running in VMware 5.1 recently we upgrade it to VMware 5.5. Day to today activities: We are checking the health of all Hosts and VM objects in VCenter. & then we need to check any active alarms in VCenter. Then Check the VCenter plug-ins functioning properly. We need to check any Host Hardware having issues. Like? Alarms, bad memory, power supply or capacity issues. All Hosts in compliance with Host Profiles. Then we need to check the Firmware updates on Host hardware. Check for ESX Patches & VM Patches. Managing VMware cluster. Like HA & DRS Managing VMware Switch like Standard & Distributed. Moving VM’s from one ESXI Host to another ESXI Host Using Vmotion in case of Host Maintenance. Moving VM's from one Data store to different Data store Using Storage V motion Maintenaing the DNS, DHCP and WSUS servers to keep clients up to date Monitoring Hard disk Health and disk space availability. Here, we have using BMC remedy ticketing tool. Based on the ticket I’m supporting here. We are following the SLA also. Technology : Active Directory 2003,2008&2012, DNS server, DHCP Server, File Server WSUS Server, Exchange Server 2007 & 2010, Lync Server 2010, Symantec Antivirus server, Windows Clustering, Linux, Network Load Balancing (NLB)& Symantec Net backup.
