UFC 202: Diaz vs McGregor 2 is an event upcoming mixed martial arts produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which will take place on August 20, 2016 to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event is expected to be led by the welterweight rematch between the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 5 and former title challenger Nate Diaz lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor UFC.
The match previously met earlier this year at UFC 196. McGregor was expected to challenge UFC lightweight champion then Rafael dos Anjos, but dos Anjos retired due to a broken foot just 11 days before the event. Diaz finally replaced him and the fight moved to the welterweight division. Diaz won the fight via rear-naked choke in the second round. Their rematch was originally expected to take place at UFC 200, but everything changed in mid-April, as a disagreement between McGregor and the UFC - with regard to its program of media - led to his expulsion from the event and then Nate Diaz also he retired.
