Job role & responsibility of an electrical panel designer.
• Technical verification & assessment of the panel enquiry obtained from client.
• Technical discussion with the client for understanding the electrical system at the site before articulating the design/working of the panel.
• Switchgear, controlgear, busbar, cable selections as per site needs.
• Preparation of BOM (Bill of Material) & quotations for the panel enquiries obtained.
• Design cubicle (feeder) with optimized dimension for electrical components/ combination of electrical components in the panel.
• Design the GA (General Arrangement) diagrams for the electrical panels.
• Design the SLD (Single Line Diagram) to depict the power flow scheme in the electrical panel.
• Design the electrical wiring diagrams i.e. the power circuit & control circuit for the panel.
• Responsible for providing timely quotations for the enquiries to the marketing team & thorough production BOMs along with GA & wiring diagrams to the production team.
Achievements

•Achieved the UL 508A certification (Standard for industrial control panel for US & Canadian markets) for the Electrical Panel BU, Bajaj Steel Industries Limited & helped organization with a world class certification to spread business globally.

•Preparing the BOQ with materials complying UL standards,calculating the ratings of BCP (branch circuit protection) ,cables etc everything in line as instructed by the standards,preparing load calculation sheet,preparing the control & power scheme,GA of the panel as per UL 508A norms. The opportunity was used well to become well-versed with UL standards & techniques.
• Panels designed till date MCC panels, PCC panels, Power distribution panels till execution
stage & BOMs designed for APFC panels, Drive panels for a vast range of industry sectors like cement,textile,steel,ginning etc..
