My name is Francois Ojukwu-Booyse, General Manager at Maliba Lodge and former Group General Manager at 520 HOTELS & SPA Ltd (West Africa), a British hotel management company in West Africa.
I have extensive Business Management, Executive Management and Strategic Management experience, with four and five-star hospitality - hotel & lodge, catering and restaurant management experience; coupled with international, remote & hostile camp management experience.
Experiences include all departments and sectors of hotel, lodge, camp, restaurant and catering operations and administration.
I also completed a contract in Darfur, Sudan as Project Camp & Catering (operations, facility & catering) manager and was US Military TB MED530 Occupational and Environmental Health Food Sanitation certified.
As already mentioned, I completed a seven (7) year contract as General Manager / Executive Operation Officer for 520 Hotels Ltd. (West Africa) with two (2) five-star corporate Hotels & Spas and a state of the art Conference & Events Centre in Cross River State, Nigeria.
Collectively I have a total of 24 years (16 years international and 14 years four and five star) experience, in the hospitality industry in all hotel and game lodge departments front office, back office, administration and finance, room divisions, housekeeping and laundry, food & beverage, restaurant, facility and maintenance, guiding and hunting, game management and hotel, lodge and camp construction.
In 2010, as part of the Cross River State Governments' drive to standardize and develop hospitality and tourism in the State, I was inaugurated as Head of Standards, Licensing and Quality Assurance at the Cross River State Tourism Bureau.
Here I was mandated to compile and implement industry regulations, quality and service delivery standards and grading systems.
And since my inauguration a number of regulations, protocol and standards has been adopted by the Federal Government of Nigeria and now serves as national and federal policies.
I was also leading the project of establishing the first international accredited hospitality training academy in Cross River State, in conjunction with Terenga Nigeria Ltd. and The Hotel School in South Africa
