I have just finished a contract as the HSE Lead Electrical safety and Deputy Safety Manager for Jacobs Zate (Jacob’s Engineering); the company specialises in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical environment overseeing a team of 18 Safety Supervisors, the Contractor Supervising Team and a Safety Team of 53 employees. I was active in the design and implementation of the permit system as well as the lock-out tag-out system for electrical, mechanical and piping systems through to pre-commissioning as well as partial commissioning of the plant. General training of the management and workforce and the safety plan throughout the construction of the project.
In my previous roles, I worked my way up the proverbial ladder across industries, I worked for Enl Electrical Contractors Pty Ltd., I oversaw the safety aspect in relation to the business of the company in the electrical construction arena, which entailed establishing the site, Human Capital recruitment, training and management as well as establishing a safety system in line with client needs and ENI standards. I worked for a company called Roschon Electrical 400k, and I was responsible for designing the basic structure of the safety system for the 400kv powerline construction team thus gaining knowledge in how the system works, developing and writing work procedures and risk assessments for existing team. I was active in the training and upgrading of supervisor and workforce standards in all the basic fields including working at heights and general safety.
From 1994-2008, I ran my own Electrical Construction and Maintenance where I provided services in the electrical industry including factory equipment, townhouse complex reticulation and maintenance of residential houses by providing electrical services as required as well as wiring houses and installing electrical wiring in newly built restaurants and coffee shops.
I am demonstrably able to successfully see newly innovated manufacturing strategies and change processes through implementation by applying tactics and techniques learnt through my field experience.
