Devkinandan Tokekar

A brief about my career path is as follows. I completed my bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Pune
University, India in the year 1999 with top ranks. I was hired by Tata Motors (then Telco) for the position of
Engineer, Total Quality Management. The dedication and performance earned me a promotion to Senior
Engineer position in the second year of joining. The strong desire to pursue higher education propelled me to
the USA in the year 2002. I earned my MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, in
the year 2006, with specialization in Computational Fluid Dynamics. Concurrent to schooling, in the year 2004, I
had an opportunity to work as an intern in the Power Plant Project Controls group at GE Energy, Schenectady.
Subsequent to graduating from MS program in the year 2006, I received a job offer at GE for the position of
project planner. During the four-year tenure in the Project Controls team, I earned a valuable experience in
scheduling and coordinating activities for various turnkey, EEP, and equipment-only combined cycle projects
being executed globally. I was fortunate to work under the guidance of veterans in the field. In the year 2008, I
moved on to a new role as a lead engineer in the Plant Systems Integration group of the Energy Engineering
Division of GE. I had an opportunity to work as a deputy program manager on 9FA Safety Integrity Level (SIL)
NPI program and also lead a project in collaboration with GE Bentley Nevada to design, develop and test the
online hazgas calibration system for the gas turbine compartment. My contribution to the plant systems analysis
for the high visibility NPI programs was deemed critical. It included performing steady state & transient analysis
of the steam-cycle missions for the assessing the overall operability, risks and the mitigation strategies thereof.
I also supported the IGCC operability team in Houston to perform heat & mass balance studies on numerous
IGCC proposals in the pre-bid stage. The assignments gave me the opportunity to coordinate the tasks with
globally located functions including ST accessories requisition, GT & ST Engineering, program management,
project engineering, Chief Engineer’s office, and technology partners. The assignments of diverse nature also
gave me a valuable hands-on experience of industry standard tools such as HySis Dynamics, Gatecycle,
Thermoflow, Fluent, GT Cycle Deck, HTRI, Primavera, MS Projects and other legacy systems
In October 2012, I returned to India for family reasons and joined Thermax India Ltd., which is India's
leading manufacturer of Boiler, HRSG's, and Chillers. Until, April 2016, I was working as a Senior Manager,
Projects in the company’s R&D center while managing a team of engineers working on the design,
development, installation and commissioning of three of the coal & biomass-based, distributed scale
gasification power plants. Every project our team worked on was successfully completed in the allotted time
and cost budget while adhering to the quality standards. I also had an opportunity to successfully lead a project
for the installation and commissioning of a 2.5 MW Solar PV plant for Daimler-Benz at Chennai. Presently, I am
working for Thermax Limited in the capacity of a project management consultant for the Gasification COE.
The work experience, analytical abilities, communication skills, adaptability, and uncompromising integrity
