• Supervising fabrication shop (ASME Sec 1,Sec 4,Sec 8 Div 1 & 2), machine shop, welding shop, assembly shop. Finding the way to minimize rectification and rework. Looking after shop floor administration of 37 workmen & 5 foremans (discipline and leave matters). Proper man distribution as per job requirements.
• Ensure welding activities are carried out as per WTS (Welding Technology Sheets),OTD(On time Delivery),ITP (Inspection Test Plan) schedules are maintained.
• Conduct Visual Testing (VT,PT),Radiographic Test (RT) Film Interpretation for the welds made & faciliate weld joint repair,if necessary, as per the Codes & Standards.
• Conduct & Review the WPS PQR,WOPQ,prepare reports,maintain welder continuity log book.
• Co-ordinate with Supply Chain,Inventory & Stores departments to ensure all time availabilty of raw materials & consumables.
• Co-ordinate with QC /Welding Cell for NDE,Pre-Heat,PWHT requirements.Faciliate for HydroTesting.
• Prepare DCR(Design Change Request)in consulatation with QC,PPC,Engineering, whenever required.
• To control weld repair in shop by analyzing root cause of defect and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurence in co-ordination with QAC department.
• Preparing DPR (Daily Production Reports).Calculations of AMH (Available manhours),SMH (Standard Manhours).Making catchup plans for production delays. Making MIS Reports from time to time.
• Delay Analysis.Using BPS (Basic Problem Solving Techniques) to overcome problems and ensure non-repeatation or reworks.
• Ensure calibration of welding machines,ovens,gauges,verniers etc in shop floors.
• Attend Daily Review meetings to compare Plan vs Actual for ensuring timely completion of job orders.
• Updating Engineering & Supplies status on regular basis and alarming the criticalities/delays.
• Attending to the queries of the clients,TPI (Third party Inspection),taking necessary actions ,if required
• Ensuring that safety regulations are followed in shop floor (OHSAS 18001)& EMS,incident & injury free hours in a day,preserving the environment.
