Being Senior Manager EHS of the region in Schneider Electric India, comprising all EHS aspects of the manufacturing, R&D and warehouses of the BU. It includes implementation of EHS policy, programmes, procedures, compliance with law of land, standards, employee’s training, liability assessment/ EHS due diligence and sustainability initiatives of the organisation. My position is member of Indian corporate EHS team in India. In addition, I am independently responsible for operations of Invensys India.

I adhere to and advise on statutory legislation, company EHS procedures, policies and deadlines in high risk, demanding environments. My skill & experience are highlighted below:
• EHS Regulatory Compliance.
• Safety & Fire Risk Assessment -Communicate critical/high risks issues to senior leadership, as appropriate, including adequate risk prevention measures and/or mitigation recommendations.
• Leading the EHS cell to investigate the causes of accidents & suggest preventive measures according to site requirements and increase the awareness among the employee’s accident causes and prevention. Provide knowledge and sharing of EHS best practices across the region.
• Coordinate with various facilities maintenance vendor or property management personnel to ensure appropriate requirement for fire safety systems are in place and maintained.
• Industrial Hygiene and Hazard Control: manages domestic industrial hygiene and safety issues, which includes identifying, monitoring & providing recommendations for the resolution of a broad-range of industrial hygiene and safety issues.
• Environmental liaison with Director of Factories, State Pollution Control Board and Ministry of Environment and Forest.
• EHS Training– plant safety, emergency preparedness and response, material handling, transportation etc.
• Involvement in all aspects of business related to safety/health and environmental programs, including EH&S record keeping, Employee, Vendors & Contractors Assistance Program, Pre-Employment Screening, Drug Free Workplace, Transport Safety, Ergonomics, and Alternative Work Program.
• Facilitation of international standards such as ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
• Preparation of EHS Standards and Codes - Preparation of Safety & Environmental Code of Practices (S&ECP).
• Preparing EHS manual and on-site emergency management plan.
• Project EHS Risk Assessment/Hazardous Identification Risk Assessment - review customer project risk, support requirements and provide expert EHS input to all customer bids. Ensure that all EHS requirements of contracts are fulfilled.
• Assisting in EHS due diligence & M&A services that include integration of EHS factors in the transaction management systems, assistance during the valuation and negotiation stages and assistance in structuring of transaction representations and indemnities.
• Identification of a Geographical Cluster for Plant Establishment based on environmental perspective including EHS Liability Assessment / Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)/ Social Impact Assessment (SIA).
• Assessment of projects under Equator Principles (EPs) guideline to access risk management framework, adopted by financial institutions, for determining, assessing and managing environmental and social risk associated in projects and is primarily intended to provide a minimum standard for due diligence to support responsible risk decision-making as per World Bank/IFC.
