Being a consultant (medical) geriatrician is a challenging post with combines the may aspects of healthcare in a holistic way. It is stimulating and requires judgement and clinical acumen to acknowledge the limitations of a poor evidence base and increasing population demand of this demographic in recent years.

I am looking to relocate to India (Pune, Mumbai) to return to be closer to family network.

I am keen to explore novel ways of delivering healthcare to those unable to access services conventionally. Frail older people may not have access to services (cannot get to hospital/ clinics) With current technology advances using "phones and drones" to get healthcare out to rural populations in less developed countries: I would like to gain experience with this technology - with the aim of being able to utilise it in the future to deliver healthcare to those who lack access to it: for various reasons.

I have completed by specialist geriatrician training in August 2016 and I am dual accredited as a general internal medicine physician too.

Since this time I have been working as a consultant geriatrician within the National Health Service in England. Responsible for inpatient ward (14 patients), acute unselected general medical takes and specialised frailty admission units. I also have experience working in the emergency department with "frailty at the front door." I have outpatient clinical experience: during my training with regards to falls, syncope along with tilt table testing/ autonomic function testing and analysis and more recently continence clinic for the frail older person. This requires liaison with urology and urogynaecology teams to streamline services across primary (community) and secondary care sectors.

The above tests a wide skill mix of acute and chronic healthcare condition management. The service is under ever growing demand and hence engaging with management and aiming to improve service output and efficiency is key and hence I partake in local clinical forums.

Education is important and I liaise with pharmacology companies to aide in networking and partake in educational talks for all levels, medical and nursing students, community physicians/ general practitioners.
