• Design and generating Mechanical, Sheet metal and Structural assembly, detailed and cut list manufacturing drawings for production using Auto-Cad 2D and 3D.
• Costing / estimating (labour, materials, consumables and time consumed) of new and existing products and preparing customer quotations.
• Calculating and preparing of the bills of quantities(material break down)
• Working out tolerances and fits in producing detailed mechanical drawings.
• Producing detailed technical drawings to SABS 10111, SAZ 783:2005 and company specifications.
• Accurate measuring, posses engineering principles, modelling skills, metal processing and carrying out materials selection. Working efficiently while ensuring high levels of internal customer satisfaction and preventing losses, errors and re-work. Carry out in-process and finished job checking for quality control and preparing of manufacturing and delivery schedules
• Creating accurate CAD model parts and assemblies in Solid Works. Research and develop efficient solutions to mechanical engineering challenges.
• Producing bending schedule drawings of base reinforcements for different structures and building drawings related to erect steel structures.
• Prepare of electrical switchboxes and wiring diagrams and also drawing filings. Plotting and filing of drawings. Liaising with the steel merchants.
• Carrying out physical work inspections to ensure conformity to scope and design specifications. Plotting of drawings. Supervision of projects and students on attachments.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
