Profile
I regularly read Engineering/Construction journals and the Safety & Health Practitioner Online and IOSH Magazine to maintain my knowledge and Continuous Professional Development.
I have been working for the last 12+ years as a NEBOSH qualified health and safety professional in the Construction Industry primarily on a contract basis in the United Kingdom in construction, production and heavy industry environments. I have also worked in Abu Dhabi, UAE and Baghdad, Iraq, where I worked with British, Emirati, Iraqi, Lebanese, Moroccan, Indian, Pakistani and Filipino multi-cultural and multi-ethnic Construction Management Project Team and work forces.
I am well versed in the development, production and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures strategically and operationally, risk profiling and assessments, carrying out accident investigations and reporting, onsite inspections, audits and chairing site safety meetings ensuring that remedial actions arising from these are implemented, the identification of continuous improvements and meeting deadlines including Key Performance Indicators reporting to Senior Management with a zero lost time injuries/incidents objective and philosophy in mind and creating a good Safety Culture and Climate.
I have good time management skills and work well as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-ethnic/multi-cultural Construction Management Team working in a collaborative way with colleagues and the work force by employing a mentoring leadership style of management.
