Tips to growing fans and followers on Facebook or Twitter
Perhaps one of the most asked question when it comes to social media marketing is how to grow fans or followers on the various social networks, mostly Twitter and Facebook. There is no secret formula, and no one can show you a foolproof way to become instantly popular, otherwise, it would have been done already.

Instead, the way to keep growing your fans and followers is by doing a series of small things that will draw people to your Facebook page or Twitter account. Here are some tips you can use that will help you grow your social media presence:

Know what your audience wants
First, it’s important to know what your audience wants, and give them the information that they are looking for. If you have a business that sells ebooks, then obviously your target audience will be people who buy ebook readers or are interested in books. By knowing your fans you can better customize the content you will show them.

In this case, you could talk about authors, bestsellers, new releases, and so on. Another tip is to make sure this content is released on a regular basis. Let’s say you have four new posts that you want to share with your followers. It’s far better to spread them over two to four days, rather than posting them all at once. You want your fans and followers to keep coming back on a regular basis, so they don’t forget about you.

Post relevant content
While posting content on a regular basis is important, you must make sure that content remains relevant. Don’t branch out into other topics just to fill up space, this will have the effect that your followers will become disinterested. Instead, if you have multiple topics you want to cover, create separate pages. You can do cross-promotions between your pages using apps that way you can still advertise to all of your followers, but try to stay on topic. By remembering what your audience wants, you can cater to them and make sure they stay interested in what you have to say, and eventually in visiting your site and buying from you.

Offer incentives to come back
Finally, you need to give them incentives to come back. Posting information about your products is a good start, but no one wants to follow a Twitter account or Facebook page that does nothing but advertising. Instead, offer them useful information, things that will help them and keep them interested, so that when you do post about your products or services, they will see it.

There are also many things you can do so that your followers will bring their own friends along. Offer prizes for people who refer others, run contests for your followers and remind them that the free information you are giving them is only possible because of their support. You could be amazed at how willing your fans are at sharing and liking your content if you ask them nicely.
