As the Unit IT head, the role encompasses the planning, organization and management of staff and overall IT operations to ensure a stable IT infrastructure at the Unit. This includes the development, maintenance, support and optimization of key functional areas, particularly compliance, governance, risk management & mitigation, network and server infrastructure as well as data communications systems. My role also includes scheduling and directing activities to resolve hardware and software problems accurately within a stipulated time frame. Planning, forecasting and budgeting for IT expenditures at the Unit to ensure operational best fit in a cost effective manner come under the responsibilities of this role.

The profile also calls for a high degree of coordination and collaboration with other departments at the Unit as well as other central teams at HO to ensure efficiency in the running of business operations. The IT department is meant to act as an enabler at the unit to achieve the goals and objectives of the Unit.
