Project Title: Optimization of time taken for inspection at an automovite assembly unit.
Place of work: Volvo India Pvt. Ltd. -
• B7RLE model bus was studied for time study analysis in order to identify delays in the process and the non-value added activities.
• From the analysis of time study, it was found that the movement of the worker was excessive due to improperly designed plant layout.
• A layout design was proposed in order to minimize movement and reduce fatigue of the worker.
• By implementing the proposed inspection method and layout, 30.44% of time reduction was achieved
