I am an plant inspection engineer/NDT engineer/ integrity assessment engineer with 9 years experience in a major chemical process plant in Romania performing inspection activities, non-destructive testing, rerating, retirement thickness calculation, corrosion rate calculation, remaining life calculation for plant stationary equipments (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, process columns, piping system, storage tanks, boilers, etc.), transportable equipments (tank-wagons, drums, bottles, etc.) and lifting equipments.
Internal and external inspections and NDT testings carried out just on transportable equipments includes a number of 77 of liquid chlorine tank-wagons, and many other tank-wagons carrying hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide solution, sodium hypoclorite, sulfuric acid, ferric chloride, calcium chloride solution, trichloroethylene, methylamines, etc.
I am certified by RINA Services S.p.A Genova – Italy as NDT operator level II for methods UT, MT, PT according to EN ISO 9712:2012 and ASNT-TC-1A for sectors: Pre-service and inservice testing of equipments, plants and structures.
Authorized by the romanian “State Inspection for control of pressure vessels, boilers, and lifting equipment” (ISCIR) for performing non-destructive testing on the following methods and specialty: VT, UT(g,t,s), MT, PT.
Conduct and perform non-destructive examinations: visual inspection (VT), ultrasonic examination (UT), thickness measurement, magnetic particle testing (MT), liquid penetrant testing (PT) as per ASME BPVC sect. V, european standards and my national regulations ISCIR.
Development of corrosion monitoring inspection plans of process equipment’s.
Review and analysis of previous inspection reports to summarize the integrity status of the plant equipments, piping systems, transportable equipments, etc.
Select of appropriate inspection/NDT techniques as per my national regulations ISCIR, international codes/standards and specification.
Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and procedure.
Document non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, processes, and results.
Develop and write procedures for testing/examining components with the optimal NDT methods.
Preparation of inspection reports/certificates with all findings, abnormalities and recommendations.
Perform integrity structural assessment of degraded in-service pressure equipments (pressure vessels, piping systems, tanks) in order to establish current technical state, determining remaining life, and establish technical conditions for continued safely operations of pressure equipments based on national regulations ISCIR and international standards and codes.
Perform mechanical strenght calculations for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pipes, etc. with various standards/codes such as ASME sect. VIII; ASME B31.3; EN 13480, EN 13445; etc.
Perform stress calculations of pressure vessels, piping systems, tanks, etc. which results from loadings due to pressure, thermal expansion, weight, etc. which is subjected that equipment, includind using specialized software like Bentley Autopipe V8i; Bentley Autopipe Vessel, PV Elite, Caesar II, etc.
Creating 3D facility representation of all process plant equipments (pressure vessels, process columns, piping system, storage tanks, etc.) using specialized softwares like Intergraph Cadworx Plant and Autocad Plant 3D for better visualization/ recording/ positioning of these equipments for staff personal/ management/ inspectors, etc.
Familiar with RID/ADR regulations, European Directives (PED- Pressure Equipment Directive, TPED- Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive) and inspection codes like API 510, API 570, etc.
