Profile
- Coordinate, review and perform pipe stress analysis of piping systems and pipelines according to ASME B31 code regulations using the specialized software “CAESAR II”.
- Determine natural frequencies and modes of vibration through a CAESAR II’s modal analysis in order to avoid mechanical resonance in piping systems and pipelines.
- Perform nozzle evaluation according to relevant standards, such as: NEMA SM23, API 610, API 617, API 560, API 650, API 661, ANSI/HI 9.6.2, WRC 297/107(537), HEI Standard, among others.
- Perform nozzle evaluation using Finite Element Analysis software FE 107 and Nozzle Pro as well as pipe shoe and saddles evaluation.
- Determine piping stress calculation parameters such as Stress Intensification Factors (SIF's) and Flexibility Factors (k) as well as its applicability for large diameter pipes, using the finite element analysis package PRG - FEAtools.
- Extract engineering data of computer models from SmartPlant 3D, Autoplant, PDS and Cadworx directly to CAESAR II through the direct interface using PCF files (Piping Component Files).
- Identify, categorize and select critical piping systems due to service, operational conditions, risk, diameter, equipment connection, among others.
- Calculate and determine the size and location of expansion loops for critical lines of large diameter.
- Perform calculation of wall thickness and schedule selection of pipe as per ASME B31 codes.
- Determine and evaluate local stress states such as buckling and cross-sectional ovalization and flattening in lines with critical D/t ratio.
- Review and Elaborate engineering technical documents such as calculation logs, piping stress specs, list of lines, list of TIE-IN, BOM, requisitions, list of valves, construction specs, coating specs, among others, as well as attending to technical meetings with the clients.
- Correct use and Interpretation of national and international codes and standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, ANSI, DNV-RP-D101, ASCE/SEI 7-10, PDVSA, SAUDI ARAMCO, REPSOL, INELECTRA, Technip, PENTECH, among others.
- Coordinate, perform and review support modeling using S3D. (Task: Hangers and Supports).
- Load SmartPlant3D and Smart Plant Review models in to CAESAR II’s input using “.vue .svf .zvf and .hsf” files (visual interface) as well as perform Smart Plant’s 3D models reviews (navigation and data extraction) using S3D and Smart Plant Review.
