Dr. Chirla Chandra Sekhara Reddy

I am enriched with PhD and M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Andhra University and I.I.T Kanpur, Currently, I am doing MBA at Murdoch University. India with excellent academic records. I have 20 years (Refinery experience: 8 Years; Petrochemical, chemical and utilities experience: 12 years) of process engineering, process safety and operations optimization experiences in Refinery, Petrochemical, Chemical and utility plants.

I have excellent knowledge of various process technologies for large scale refinery and petrochemical plants. I have thorough knowledge of operations monitoring, troubleshooting, optimization and cross functional coordination activities. I have generated significant cost savings, through many process optimization projects. I am also experienced in leading site-wide energy optimization and pinch studies. In my job role, I am guiding many managers and process engineers on process design issues and operation optimization.


I have also taken lead roles in capex projects. So far I have designed and implemented more than 300 plant modification schemes. I have designed many grassroots and revamp projects such as molten Sulfur storage and handling, RCC catalyst loaders, ATU revamp, Cogen, Sox mitigation, Refinery fuel conversion from RFO to NG, FWS, SRU and CDU revamp, water recycling plants. I have led the new process engineering works for supplying utilities and petrochemical feed stocks to Lucite, Tate& Lyle, Ciba, Denka, Peter Cremer, Huntsman, and TPL. I have commissioning experience of LLDPE, HDPE, BUTENE-1, LDPE, Reformer, SRU, ATU, Boilers, waste water, incinerator and refrigeration plants. I have expertise in water recycling plants (involving ceramic MF/Polymeric UF and RO and waste heat powered desalination plants.


I have expertise in relief system calculations. I have rich knowledge of API, ASME, IEC, NFPA and industrial best practices. I have rich experience of equipment and piping failure mechanisms. I have chaired many PHAs and RCAs. I have rich working experience of QRA, Risk Assessment and Risk Mitigation, REGAGEP and Dispersion modeling. I also have rich experience of Quality, Safety and Environmental management systems.


I have many international publications. I have good communication and Computer aided design skills. Authored 3 book chapters in the book “Chemical Process Retrofitting and Revamping: Techniques and Applications Edited by G.P. Rangaiah (Book accepted for publication by Wiley).
