Over and above my professional commitments, I have restructured my life to include my NGO-White Desert Mahamaya
Our NGO , White Desert Mahamaya, based out of Paddhar Village in Bhuj (Rann of Kutch-Gujarat)is currently under registration.

What is that we are trying to achieve
currently building an address over land purchased in Padhdhar. The building will house
a class room , initially , to provide basic education to the underprivileged children followed by vocational training. The longer term horizon envisages a primary school in the area with facilities to provide employment generating vocational training...basic owrk in this direction has already commenced and we have more than 50 children under our ambit
a work area where 15-20 rural women artisans will have gainful round the year permanent employment besides access to training, funds, new trends, exhibitions and fashion shows....this will be over and above 100 odd artisans that we wish to employ across other villages in Bhuj, Rann of Kutch
a small veterinary facility to guide animal husbandry in the region. Will also including breeding cows, buffaloes to provide milk to the children and artisans embracing the NGO
a community kitchen to provide free meals to the artisans, students and other underprivileged people of the locality
providing marketing services and in the long term an "E -Commerce " platform to the rural agricultural population to ensure that they obtain the most remunerative prices for their produce . Also support with the agricultural process include use of hybrid seeds, fertilizers, etc
This excludes the core activity where currently

unique sarees depicting our ageless traditions through hand embroidered designs are under manufacture..... to be followed shortly by ethnic dresses showcasing our rich cultural heritage

Our long term vision will be outlined in our website which shall be ready by mid July- 2015..... ...we are clear that over the next 3-5 years, we will limit our activities to the extent that we are capable of financing....the model deployed is to WORK WITH THE ARTISANS
Leverage their substantial skills , merge with the rich cultural and diverse heritage of this country and create unique and innovative designs, fusions, never attempted before
ensure that the artisans obtain remunerative wages and become independent and empowered
show case their skills to the world by participating in exhibitions in India and globally
participate in fashion shows in India whereby the artisans would themselves be "models" thus providing them opportunities to interface and discover new horizons
Over along horizon, support them to pursue literacy, vocational training, facilitate their independence and fight against social injustice and exploitation
Revenue generated from the sale of the saree, other kinds of dress materials will be redeployed in the initiative
