Darren Kam

I have nine (9) years of working experience in the oil and gas industry dealing primarily with offshore/subsea based projects. I started off as a Graduate Pipeline Design Engineer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and has gained experience in technical and analytical scopes specializing in rigid pipeline, riser and expansion spool design. During my first four (4) years in Malaysia, I have worked on projects based in Malaysia, India, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Australia, through project phases ranging from conceptual/feasibility studies and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to detailed design and installation support.

I moved to Perth, Australia to fill up a Subsea Engineer role in 2011. Since then, my job scope has extended to include Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) and my focus shifted towards flexible riser, moorings, and umbilical design as well as drilling and wells related projects. The jobs I have worked on while in Perth include projects within Australia and others in Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Scotland, Uruguay and Brazil.
