Chrysantha Perera

Educated at St. Joseph’s College, soon after finishing GCE O/L in 1992, I was absorbed as a permanent staff member of the Seylan Bank at the age of 17 +. While working for the bank I successfully completed my GCE A/L, AIB as well as my CIM.

While at the bank I had the opportunity of further developing my marketing skills as well as presentation skills through various countless programmes both locally and internationally.

As highlights in my banking profession, I managed to established over 100 school banks in schools located in all parts of the country and also managed to obtain the Gold Award for “Best Service Brand of the Year 2002” for Seylan Bank Tikiri Accounts during my capacity as Brand Manager Tikiri Minor Savings Accounts.

While in the bank, as a member of the marketing team I have received countless opportunities to organize and conduct various promotions, product launches, street promotions etc, where most of the compere work was handled by me. As for being a master of ceremonies, it was not only restricted to Bank functions but to other functions in various companies of the entire Ceylinco Group.

I was entrusted to travel to many different countries such as Dubai, Singapore, Male, Lebanon, and Jordan to conduct and carry out charity programmes for the needy of all communities and nationalities with the coordination of foreign missions and embassies.

Life on Radio

I consider the secret in being a successful RP is to be sincere. I always consider my listeners as individuals and mean what i say, and most importantly i say it from my heart. That's how you become sincere. My listeners say that I smile when I go on air, which I do, and that they feel I'm apart of the family. If you do listen to my show, you may agree why my listeners call me " Mr. Romantic" "The Love Doctor" and so on.. They love my voice and the most practical little things I say on air, which connects them with me. My listeners love me and I love listening to their stories. For most of them, I'm a counselor, a person that they can talk to, a person who Cares and a good friend.


Life on TV

My morning shows "live" are mostly based on having guests from various fields and talking about a given subject on their specialized field. The simplest way of keeping your viewers hooked up is to ask the right questions that the common man needs to clarify. I structure the discussion and make sure everything is covered during the allocated time of the show.

As for my cookery show, I love cooking, and i have studied and read much on the subject. Clear instructions and a bit of scientific explanation, a bit of humor dose it all. At present my cookery show is the most aired, and most popular TV Cookery show in Sri Lanka
