Aged 46. Er. AL RIFAE is an energetic Chartered/Professional Engineer and Professional Geologist. His present role in Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak (Project Delivery Partners, PDP) is Professional Geotechnical Engineer for the whole 11 Work Packages Contract of Pan Borneo Highway/Trans Borneo Highway. It is mainly Design, Build, Operates & Transfer of the highway from Telok Melano (Indonesia boarder) to Limbang (Brunei boarder) and Lawas (Sabah boarder) a 4-lane dual carriageway of PWD R5 Standard. Travel across the vast state of Sarawak continues to be a long journey somehow up to 20 hours from Sematan to Miri currently. Upon completion by Q1-2022, Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak from Telok Melano to Merapok will span a total distance of 1,089 km, and is slated to be the community transportation backbone of the Sabah, Brunei, Sarawak & Kalimantan and will play a major role to open up economic corridors and opportunities in Borneo Island. The PDP project quality management system (QA/QC for both highway & bridges) is to prepare, monitor, confirm the adequacy of the overall design details, production of engineering drawings (preliminary, detail, tender & works), documents, standards & specification and reports accordingly. The PDP role during design stage; are to review, approve all the detail engineering design, design checklist, manuals, standards/specification & construction drawings from design consultants with Independent Checker Engineer’s (ICE) & Road Safety Auditor (RSA) comments prior to procurement process. Whilst, during construction stage; PDP-Construction Management Team role are to control alternative design submitted by the Contractor, coordinate with relevant designers, ensure the designers are adhere to the Project Design Quality Plan, registered, track-listed, properly documented, assess the alternative design arise and attends the Job-Site meetings.
