Sewing Garment Technician
Job Purpose: to provide garment technical support for pre-production preparation and bulk production processes to ensure production of quality garments efficiently that meet Customers’ requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide training to Sewer Trainers so they can train sewers to equip them with required skills to guide the sewers to sew with quality and efficiently
· Resolve sewing technical problems on the sewing lines
· Coordinate with Sewing Supervisors to improve sewer capability
· Conduct spot checks on the production lines to make sure garments are made in compliance with defined technical standards
· Understand and live by the Company’s core values
· Take accountability for growing and continuously improving oneself
Job Requirements
· Education: Vocational education
· Experience: 1 – 2 years of relevant experience in a garment manufacturing environment
· Language skills: Written and spoken English and Amharic a must, local dialects a plus
· Functional Requirements:
· Sewing skills
· Understanding of hand motion and ergonomics
· Understanding of basic garment quality requirements
· Has the drive to meet or exceed a standard of excellence on an ongoing basis
· Has the drive to systematically seek out information about things and issues to resolve problems
· Is excited by convincing and persuading others to do what is needed
Other Relevant Information:
· Must be willing to travel to Asia to be trained for up to 3 - 6 months in the Company’s existing Factories
