OPD duties:
1.Perform and assist in history taking, examination, counseling and treatment of patients under the supervision of the consultants
2.Perform and assist in urogynecological diagnostics and OPD procedures under the supervision of the consultants.
Surgical and post-operative duties:
1.Perform and assist in preop counseling and management, consent, admission, history taking and all other aspects of pre-operative management of the patient.
2.To inform the Anesthetist and instruct him / her about the patient. To carry out all the pre-operative orders.
3.Assist in surgeries and take care of post-op management of the patient including post-op ward management and discharge.
4.Management of post-op care of the patient during follow up visits.
Inpatient duties:
1.The management of the daily care of inpatients, including admission, examination, documentation of clinical findings, writing orders, undertaking routine and special investigations, drug therapy and informing the consultants.
2.Attend ward rounds with consulting staff, as required, and be available to discuss patient treatment plans and carry out the necessary changes in the order. Enter them in the treatment sheet. Inform the nursing staff on duty about the same.
3.To follow up with all the investigations to be seen and trace their results. Inform the consultant. Note down investigation results in the investigation sheet.
4.To enter the treatment sheets for the following day. Cross check the same for the dosages of the medications. Confirm the investigations to be sending on the following day. To take special precautions for any special investigations.
5.Provide 24-hour medical service within the hospital on an on-call basis permanently.
Inform admitting consultants of changes in medical condition of patients and of relevant action taken.
6.Follow the instructions of consultants for their specific regime for each individual patient.
7.Perform clinical procedures as requested by consultant medical staff and nursing staff, these may include phlebotomy and the giving of intravenous drugs to patients.
8.Visit patients as required at the request of the nursing staff.
9.To document all findings and to maintain clinical records of all cases.
10.To do emergency procedures as and when required.
11.To givemedicalcoverage to the patients while in transportation in ambulance.
12.To answer themedicalqueries of the patients or their attendants as and when required.
Overall:
1.To Comply with patient safety policy
2.To ensure safe utilization of equipment and proper waste disposal system.
3.To attend patients complaints. To calm the patients if they are apprehensive. Inform the consultant if needed.
4.Maintain electronic medical records
5.Assist in all research activities of the hospital
6.Assist in building up hospital practice.
Adequate training will be given to the RMO in the necessary duties.
