Physical Education & Games Technician

Specialist Technician: PE & Games (including swimming coaching and life-guarding)

The following items are included in the professional duties which a Specialist Technician may be required to perform.

The following items are included in the professional duties which a technician may be required to perform under the reasonable direction of the Principal.

Main Responsibilities:

·         To provide technical support to teaching staff and classes

·         To adopt a flexible style in order to tackle a range of routine duties across all sports facilities

Specific Duties:

·         Deliver engaging swimming sessions for pupils at a variety of ages

·         Life-guard as required

·         Daily set up and take down of sports equipment and log and/or action repair of any faults

·         Support lessons and work alongside teachers during designing and making activities to aid pupil progress.

·         Be available to issue prepare equipment to ensure that teachers are not side-tracked from their teaching duties when urgently needed.

·         Prepare materials and/or resource packs for teachers and pupils’ design based projects.

·         Stock control: keeping records, ordering material, sorting out invoices and receipts, inventory checks. Advise teaching staff as appropriate.

·         Carry out such other duties as reasonably fall within the purview of this post as designated by the Faculty Leader.

Skills we are looking for:

·         Excellent Communication Skills

·         Proficient in MS office & ICT applications.

·         Should also have a meticulous attention to detail, especially with regard to health and safety.

·         Recognized coaching or lifesaving qualifications an advantage
