Mechanic Supervisor
Job Purpose: to provide the Production Units with the well-functioning production machines, equipment, and the associated spare parts and work aids to maximize the productivity of the Production Units through the mechanic functional expertise and managerial leadership of the Mechanic team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Validate machinery needs and settings from the Production team and prepare the machines in a timely manner
· Inspect production machines to ensure they are properly set up
· Shorten the machine changeover lead-time
· Conduct regular preventative maintenance to ensure good working condition
· Repair broken machines
· Monitor the safety of the machines
· Provide expertise in resolving machine-related production issues
· Provide managerial leadership to the mechanics
· Understand and live by the Company’s core values
· Take accountability for growing and continuously improving oneself
Job Requirements
· Education: Vocational education
· Experience: 4 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in supervisory positions, in a garment manufacturing environment
· Language skills: Written and spoken English and Amharic a must, local dialects a plus
· Functional Requirements:
· Knowledge on maintenance and repair of Juki sewing machines
· Concept of preventative maintenance
· Concept of occupational safety
· Understanding of basic garment quality standards, a plus
· Has the drive to lead, engage and enable teams and coach individual team members
· Has the drive to meet or exceed a standard of excellence on an ongoing basis
· Has the drive to systematically seek out information about things and issues to resolve problems
