Mechanic (International Garment client) for Ethiopia

Job Purpose: to ensure all assigned production machines and related tools/work aids are setup properly prior to the production process and repaired and maintained as required to maximize production efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
· Attend relevant pre-production meetings to obtain information regarding the production machine requirements
· Setup production machines with the required settings as specified
· Conduct regular maintenance work (lubrication, cleaning, etc.) as per the standard procedure
· Repair or replace broken machines as per the standard procedure
· Assist in resolving production technical problems that are machine-related
· Train workers on simple machine maintenance
· Understand and live by the Company’s core values
· Take accountability for growing and continuously improving oneself
Job Requirements
· Education: Vocational education
· Experience: 1 – 2 years of relevant experience in a garment manufacturing environment
· Language skills: Written and spoken Amharic a must, local dialects a plus
· Functional Requirements:
· Sewing machine maintenance and repair skills
· Operator engagement skills
· Basic understanding of garment manufacturing a plus
· Has the drive to meet or exceed a standard of excellence on an ongoing basis
· Has the drive to systematically seek out information about things and issues to resolve problems
