Job description for Enterprise Architect
Take architectural ownership across one or more areas such as Application Architecture, Technology Architecture, Business Architecture, Omni-channel (Web + Mobile) UI, Enterprise APIs / Micro services integrations, Data Architectures, and Identity and Access Management
Provide technical leadership to the design, development/implementation, and testing of business solutions, often custom developed and integrating new technologies
Preparing and presenting potential technical solutions and advising the business on the technical and business value of the proposition with appropriate trade offs
Working with the developers, business analysts and subject matter experts to understand the complex technological system in order to produce integrated end-to-end solution options
Communicating solution approaches to peer architects, project teams and other stakeholders
Reviewing, analyzing and evaluating market requirements, business requirements and project briefs in order to design the most appropriate end-to-end technology solutions
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills
Ability to communicate and drive highly complex IT solutions to broad audiences/executives, business leaders, product managers, Legal, Security, and implementation specialists
Demonstrated ability to describe non-functional requirements (qualities) and translate into architecture constraints
Experience with selling architectures to cross-functional architecture and business teams
Ability to define, structure and plan work independently
Keep abreast of new trends, technologies, developments in the related areas of work such as Digital Technologies, EAI, SOA, BPM, API, Mobility, AI, IOT
Exhibit thought leadership through activities such as publishing white papers, developing Intellectual Property
Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
15+ years of relevant experience in the IT industry
5+ years of experience in either of Application Architecture, Technology Architecture. Business Architecture, EAI architecture, Data Architecture
2+ years as EA / Digital Architect
Excellent communication skills and experience with CxOs across business & IT
Experience in Application portfolio rationalization/management, Technology standardization, Reference architecture, Reference implementation
Experience in roadmap planning, Applications Assessments, Enterprise Architecture artifacts (and seeking buy in from stakeholders), Application portfolio management
Experience / experimentation in leading edge technologies such as Mobility, Data Science/Big Data, IoT, Cloud Technologies etc.
Ability to translate business vision to be supported by IT and to translate IT vision to the people on the ground. Be able to communicate in the language of customer and in the language of IT people
Ability to create roadmaps of program implementations
Ability to select products, technologies to create suitable solutions within constraints
Knowledge/experience in EA frameworks such as Zachman, TOGAF. Certification such as TOGAF / Zachman will be a plus
