What’s Up Guides is a discovery platform for new launches and latest trends pertaining to lifestyle. After having successfully established itself in print, WUG has adopted a digital first approach through the website, mobile app as well as across various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) thus providing a 360 degree coverage to the brand across both print and digital platforms.

Part of the esteemed Tholasi Prints India Pvt Ltd, who have been in the market for more than 40 years, we are looking to step onto the next level to expand our brand and business.

Group activities include, The Basil Hospitality Services, incorporated in the year 2001 is a facility service provider for the best international school in Bangalore, giving services in Kitchen operations and Housekeeping activities.

As a Designer your main duties will be:

· Must be a team player, confident in liaising with editorial team members

· Must have a 'can-do', positive attitude and not be phased by change requests

· Must be able to work closely with the editorial team to create compelling layouts across all print and digital platforms

· Create attractive and effective marketing and promotion material across all print and digital platforms

· Must be interested in solving complicated publication layout issues, such as balancing advertisements with content

· Create editorial layout templates

· Carry out appropriate picture selection

· Quality control finished PDFs

· Coordinating with the printers and support in proof reading

· Must resize creatives of the brands for the vertical, panel, leader board and banner ads on the website and other digital platforms

· Must create weekly newsletters for WUG

· Must create promotional emailers for brands

· After every issue, must create an emailer sent out to all of our customers and the brands

· Must assist the marketing team in designing marketing and brand promotional material

· Must work with the editorial team to create compelling designs as a part of promotional campaigns and contests

· Must create the digital version of the magazine and push it on issuu.com and Magzter

· Create editorial layout templates

· Work closely with content team to conceptualize and design creatives for creating campaigns across all of our platforms to promote client Brands and their offerings

· Designing media contents such as brochures, press kits, and inserts

Skills required:

· The ideal candidate will have a real enthusiasm for magazine design, be full of ideas and able to demonstrate genuine artistic flair.

· In-depth knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite of products especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as CorelDraw

· Ideate on things such as typeface and fonts for magazine’s cover and headlines

· Ideate on the type of artwork and other visuals that will be used for each story

· Ability to work with tight deadlines

· Excellent organization and time management

· High attention to detail

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Used to working within a pre-press environment

· Clear understanding of current magazine design, production and print processes

· Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
