Deputy Manager ( Terminal )

The individual must be able to provide financial and analytical support for all Operations and Sales related activity for the Company. He is responsible for management of the day-to-day facility operations and creating a safe and desirable work environment in order to produce an acceptable profit margin while excelling in service quality and maintaining regulatory compliance. The Terminal Manager will be involved with measuring business trends, developing staff, and increasing production while controlling overhead costs. Additionally, the Terminal Manager will be responsible for generating sales with new and existing customers in the local market.
This location runs 2 shifts. While the Terminal Manager is not required to work 2nd shift, he must be available to go to the facility, should an emergency occur during this time.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Environmental & Safety compliance - maintain safe and environmentally correct practices and procedures by adhering to all Company SOP's and Federal, State, and Local regulations.
- New and Existing Customer Development - Assist in sales effort to increase revenues by seeking new revenue opportunities and maintaining tight cost controls by using corporate authorized vendors, minimizing overtime, conserving assets, and utilizing proper management techniques.
-Conduct daily, weekly, and detailed quarterly safety audits of the facility. Conduct documented monthly safety meetings.
-Profit and Loss oversight.
-Employee and labor relations - recruit, train, develop, and communicate with all staff as well as assess performance on a regular basis.
-Work to resolve employee and customer complaints, interruptions of work, and potential disciplinary or production problems among employees. Work with HR team in administering progressive disciplinary action.
-Training and development for all tank cleaners and office personnel.

*Desired Skills and Experience
-Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Management, Engineering, Chemistry or a similar field.
6 -10 years’ work experience in the Tank Wash, Transportation, Environmental Services, Logistics, Chemicals, or Supply Chain industry required.
-At least 5 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role over a group of 25-50 people.
-Strong emphasis on SAFETY.
-Proven ability to drive success of individual employees and teams.
-Ability to address issues and concerns without bias.
-Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to make decisions and problem-solve with little assistance.
-Excellent attention to detail.
-Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
-Skilled in MS Office and Internet applications
