Amazon's Big Data Technologies team provides services to thousands of teams across Amazon including, data ingestion, metadata, analysis platforms, No-SQL platforms and data mining. Amazon.com is seeking an outstanding Data Engineer to join Amazon.com's Big Data Technologies team. The Amazon.com BDT Team delivers to over 1000 internal customers, and a diverse community of external customers, from one of the worlds largest and most complex data sets.
Responsibilities
Amazon.com Big Data is a fast paced environment where every day brings new challenges and new opportunities. As a Data Engineer working on the Big Data platform, you will be implementing and supporting the technologies that give our customers timely, flexible and structured access to their data. You will be challenged with a variety of tasks, ranging from server administration to metadata modeling to UI design. You will interact with customers to gather requirements and structure solutions. Design, implement and drive adoption of new analytic technologies and solutions. Promote industry standard best practices. Interface with business customers, gathering requirements and gaining a deep-dive understanding of key datasets. Tuning application and query performance against large, complex data structures.
You Should Also Have The Following Skills Or Experiences
Were looking for Data Engineers who have a passion for data and a passion for supplying their clients with that data. You love working with analytic tools, providing a comprehensive platform for customers to access their data; understanding your customers challenges, you can partner with customers to invent great solutions, and you are an advocate for your customers. You are analytical and creative, and you dont quit.
Retail knowledge
Engineering or CS degree
Minimum of 5 years of IT experience
Ability to write complex SQL Queries, Data modelling skills
Internal ORACLE DB Concepts, Performance tuning
Distributed Technologies (Hadoop, EMR, HIVE).
