Checker - Structural Steel / Fabrication

Key Responsibilities :

We are seeking a qualified candidate to be responsible for checking Structural / Fabrication and shop drawings using traditional methods and AutoCAD and/or Tekla, with the guidance and information collected from architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings, as well as in-house generated engineering sketches.

He will be responsible for checking and verifying that all drawings and engineering documents are in compliance with specific customer requirements, company standards and industry regulations. Must have understanding and working knowledge of Drawing and Drafting standards.

Desired Candidate Profile :

• Examine engineering drawings of commercial parts, assemblies and installations to detect errors in design documents.

• Compare figures and lines on production drawing or diagram with production layout, examining angles, dimensions, bend allowances and tolerances for accuracy.

• Determine practicality of design, material selection, available tooling and fabrication process, applying knowledge of drafting and manufacturing methods.

• Confer with design personnel to resolve drawing and design discrepancies.

• Specialize in checking specific types of designs, such as mechanical assemblies, microelectronic circuitry, or fluid-flow systems.
