"Get Out" by Jordan Peele was nominated for Best Film - Musical or Comedy, which caused a stir among the fans because many people do not believe that the film should have been in that category. The "Get Out" star, Daniel Kaluuya, receives his first
Golden Globe Awards nomination for his role in the film.
The actors Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks were nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for their performances in "Roman J. Israel, Esq" and "The Post", respectively.
"The master of none", Aziz Ansari and the star of "Black-ish", Anthony Anderson, were nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy this year.
This year, singer Mary J. Blige is nominated for Best Supporting Actress, Motion Picture for her role in "Mudbound."
